A Shared Vision for a Different Life

Over time, my different way of seeing the world began to rub off on Joe. He started to understand why I felt so strongly about leaving the UK behind. It wasn’t long before he saw it for himself—the stress, the systems, the loss of real connection. Once we made the decision to leave, everything moved quickly. Within just four months, we had sold up and boarded the plane. When you stay completely focused on your vision and manifest what you want in life, things can shift fast.

Tilly, our daughter, also embraced the journey. Schools were changing rapidly, and the sense of community had started to disappear there too. It began to feel like she was just being placed in daycare while we worked to keep up with a system—and she wasn’t really learning or thriving. She saw the positives in breaking away, in living a life that would encourage creativity and one that was meaningful.

Our other daughter, Teegan, was already living with her grandma before we made our final decision to seek a better lifestyle elsewhere. She understood our reasons and supported our move. We know she will join us again at different points along the way—and who knows she may decide that she doesn’t want to return to UK either… and that’s OK, we put no pressure on it! We live our lives differently now—unconventionally, with love, freedom, and trust in the timing of things.

We’ve also learned that having space and independence within a family is a beautiful thing. Living under one roof with the constant busyness and distractions of modern life can be overwhelming. For us, this setup works. It gives everyone the room to grow and breathe. That said, we absolutely can’t wait to explore with Teegan when she does come out—those shared moments will be even more special.
