Emma
Hi! I’m Emma, and welcome to my family travel blog.
I’m a young mum who started building a family at just 17 years old. I didn’t have a traditional parental upbringing, so I learned to manage life on my own from a young age. That independence shaped who I am today and gave me the strength to create a different kind of life for myself—and now for my family.

It’s been quite the journey since then, and now I’m on a mission to embrace family life in an unconventional way! I’ve always loved trying new things and making the most out of life—and I’m bringing that spirit into everything we do as a family.

My background as an Occupational Therapist in healthcare has had a huge impact on how I see life. I’ve worked with people whose lives were changed in an instant due to illness, and others who spent years holding back, waiting for the “right time” to live fully—only to realise that time never really came. Those experiences made me reflect deeply. I remember standing on a hospital ward one day, watching it all unfold, and going home to talk with my husband Joe. I told him I didn’t want that kind of life. I wanted to make the most of every moment, especially with our family.
Saying Goodbye to the UK!
I’ve always been the outdoorsy type—some people are born to sit still... I was definitely not one of them! From camping under the stars to hiking up hills just to see what’s on the other side, I feel most alive when I’m outside, wild and free.

Climbing Mountains!
Adventure is my love language. Whether it’s biking, paddleboarding, hiking, yoga, or just wandering somewhere new—I’m in. I’ll always pick a sunrise hike over a Netflix binge, and I’d take muddy boots over fluffy slippers any day. Being outdoors just makes sense to me.

Now that my girls are growing up, I feel a strong pull to explore and spread my wings. I’ve been a mum since my teenage years, so this is my time to step out, shake things up, and see the world—with my family right by my side. Most people travel before they settle down, but I’ve done things in reverse and fast! Now it’s our turn to adventure together, create unforgettable memories, and live life to the fullest.
Leaving the UK (16th January 25)!
Over time, it also became clear that we couldn’t keep living the way we were. We were all getting sick—burnt out by broken systems, toxic working environments, and the rising cost of living in the UK. It became unbearable. So, we made the bold decision to leave it all behind and choose a life led by experience, connection, and freedom. This blog is our story as we travel, grow, and rediscover what it means to truly be!
Ready to leave the UK grind!
